cambridge contemporary art

Sara Johnson

Sara trained at the Winchester School of Art, and later at Loughborough College of Art & Design, where she specialised in woven textiles. Before becoming a full-time landscape painter in 2014, Sara was a garden designer and previously ran a craft-based weaving business.

Sara’s interest in textural effects, combined with atmosphere and a sense of place, is evident in her watercolour and recent acrylic paintings. She explores and paints the rural locality of wherever she is exhibiting, in this instance the Cambridgeshire fens.

Sara is represented by various galleries in East Anglia, and has exhibited with the Royal Institute for Painters in Watercolour at the Mall Galleries, London. Her work is held in national and international collections. She opens her studio annually through the Harleston & Waveney Art Trail collective.
